Best ICTAZ Student Chapter 2025

A significant milestone has been achieved following ZCAS University’s recognition by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) as the Best ICTAZ Student Chapter for 2025.

The prestigious award was officially presented to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, highlighting the University’s growing contribution to Zambia’s ICT sector and its commitment to developing future technology professionals.

Receiving the award, Vice-Chancellor Professor Edwin Bbenkele welcomed the recognition and reaffirmed the University’s dedication to research-driven collaboration, innovation and the creation of platforms that nurture emerging talent from student chapters and academic institutions across the country.

During the ceremony, ICTAZ Chief Executive Officer Mr Chellah Silavwe emphasised the important role student chapters play in advancing the Association’s mandate of promoting professionalism and regulating Zambia’s ICT industry. He also outlined upcoming ICTAZ initiatives aimed at empowering students, young people and innovators nationwide.

The award was proudly received by ZCASU–ICTAZ Student Chapter President Shammah King Kausa and Vice-President Mirriam Sakala, whose leadership has contributed significantly to the Chapter’s success and commitment to excellence.

Also in attendance were ICTAZ Regional Chairperson Mr George Mwale, Accountant Mr Mwalise Kowa, Dean of the School of Computing, Technology and Applied Sciences Professor Aaron Zimba, and Head of the Department of Information Technology and Systems Mrs Mwiza Mwenda.

We congratulate the ICTAZ–ZCASU Student Chapter on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to strengthening this strategic partnership in advancing ICT excellence in Zambia.
