The Ph.D. in Information Technology by coursework and dissertation provides a coursework and research approach with focus in the interdisciplinary areas of information technology, cyber security and artificial intelligence. The programme prepares students with an in-depth understanding of core and advanced topics in information technology and trains them to use the latest tools to represent, model and solve real world business challenges in the country. The programme has been designed to provide the student with a blend of advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to emerging technologies deployed in industry and research in information technology.
AIM: The aim of the Ph.D. in Information Technology by coursework and dissertation is to develop scholars who are able to independently carry out scholarly work in the ICT industry and solve current and future challenges in the industry as well as having a career in academia.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Applicants should have a:
Masters’ Degree in computer science or any related field from a recognized university or other institutions approved by the Senate and/or HEA.
Bachelors’ Degree in computer science or any related field from a recognized university or other institutions approved by Senate and/or HEA.
School Certificate with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics.
Submission of a research proposal in the area of interest.
DURATION OF STUDY
The course of study for the award of PhD in Information Technology degree by coursework and dissertation is at least three (3) years and not more than six (6) years from the date of first registration.
