The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programme (MSc AI) is specifically designed for professionals who want to enhance their knowledge and skills in future-oriented topics related to computer science. The programme focuses on key areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Optimization Techniques, and Data Science. The programme is tailored to address the shortage of experienced AI experts not just in Zambia, but across Africa and the world. The courses offered will provide students with advanced and valuable knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, which will enable them to solve real-world problems using cutting-edge AI techniques. This MSc programme will equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the rapidly-evolving field of AI and make a significant contribution to the field.

AIM: The aim of the MSc in Artificial Intelligence is to train, equip and produce highly knowledgeable, skilled and competent AI professionals who can contribute to the growth and development of the region's economy and society through the use of advanced technology.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

To qualify for admission to the Master of Science in AI programme applicants must hold:

i. Passes at credit level (1-5) in at least five (5) subjects in the Zambian School Certificate or Cambridge Overseas School Certificate.  The five ‘O’ Level credits or better should include English and Mathematics.

ii. Qualifications other than the Zambian School Certificate or Cambridge Overseas School Certificate or the General Certificate of Education may be accepted provided they are approved as equivalent by the Senate and Examinations Council of Zambia.

iii. An undergraduate degree in ICT/Computing or Engineering from a recognized university or other approved institutions.

DURATION OF STUDY

The course of study for the award of the MSc AI degree shall be completed in a period of not less than 18 months and not more than 36 months (3years).
