Dr. Ezekiel S. Bob

Dr. Ezekiel S. Bob Jere is a distinguished lecturer in the School of Computing, Technology, and Applied Sciences at ZCAS University, where he has been serving since March 2022. Dr. Jere holds a Ph.D. in Computer Security, Forensics, and Management from Warnborough College, Ireland/UK (2014), a Master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Brighton, UK (2003), a BA in Business Administration with Economics from the University of Zambia (1991), and a City & Guilds of London diploma in Information Technology from Newcastle, UK (1992). Additionally, he holds a Certificate in PC Maintenance and Novell Installation from Mari Advanced Computer Training, Newcastle, UK (1992). Dr. Jere’s professional journey includes roles such as Acting Dean of the School of Information Technology at ZCAS University (2019-2022) and Manager of the Information Computing and Technology Department at ZCAS (2012-2014).

In his current role, Dr. Jere’s responsibilities encompass lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising computing projects at the Master’s degree level, and engaging in research. His research interests include security management, artificial intelligence and machine learning, digital forensics, and smart city development. Dr. Jere has contributed significantly to the academic community with publications in reputable journals such as the Zambia ICT Journal. Some of his notable works include studies on the challenges of crowdfunding in Zambia, the development of smart cities in developing countries, and the implications of blockchain technology for the financial sector in Zambia.

Dr. Jere is actively involved in community engagement, serving as a judge at the Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show. He is also a member of the Institute of Analysts and Programmers (IAP) in the UK and a fellow of the ICT Association of Zambia (ICTAZ). In addition to his academic and professional commitments, Dr. Jere has a keen interest in basketball, soccer, reading, and farming. His contributions to the implementation of e-government in Zambia and the analysis of significant legislative bills, such as the Electronic Communications and Transactions Bill and the Data Protection Bill, further highlight his dedication to the advancement of technology and governance in Zambia
