INTRODUCTION
Computer technology has, more than anything else, shaped the modern world. Things that we now take for granted such as the internet, mobile phones, medical technology and many more would not be possible without the major developments made in the field of computing, particularly over the past 20 years. The Doctor of Philosophy in Computing and Data Science programme by coursework and dissertation is intended to address the shortage of human resources in data science and contribute positively to the economy of the country and the world at large. The programme provides a unique opportunity to develop leading-edge in-depth knowledge in computing and data science disciplines. Students will be competent enough to investigate continually emerging trends and topics in computing, data science, artificial intelligence and many more.
AIM: The aim of the Ph.D. in Computing and Data Science is designed to produce scholars who are able to independently carry out scholarly work in the field of computing and data science. The candidates will be equipped with advanced research methodologies and knowledge of statistics, programming and data analysis, and will be expected to contribute to solving current and future challenges that transcend the boundaries of traditional academic disciplines.
