The demand for qualified financial analysts who can contribute to the growth of the financial services sector in Zambia has made it necessary to introduce the BAF degree programme. The collaboration between UNZA and ZCAS University presents an opportunity to produce a product that will help raise the standard of financial analysis knowledge and skills in the country and the region.
The aim of this programme is to equip the students with knowledge and skills in the fields of accountancy, banking and finance in order for them to effectively operate in financial systems and similar roles.
The BAF degree programme is designed to meet the growing demand for qualified personnel with a mix of knowledge and skills in accounting and finance. Such professionals are expected to pursue careers in accounting, investment banking, management consultancy, investment analysis, financial management and investment management. It is intended for the following groups of people:
- School leavers who wish to pursue a career in Accounting and Finance with five credits at ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics
- At least three ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics or equivalent
- Banking and finance employees who wish to enhance their career prospects
- Holders of partial accountancy qualifications such as ACCA-FIA, CIMA-CBA and ZICA-technician who wish to pursue a career in banking and finance
- Any relevant three year accountancy diploma from a reputable college or university.
DURATION OF STUDY
The programme runs for four years on full time, part time and distance education and not more than five academic years in case of any eventualities or unforeseen circumstances.
